reflections on Psalm 23

no 10

. . and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Coming of age is freedom and independence; moving in with God sounds like confinement.
Am I missing something here?

The centre of operations in any person is either body or spirit based.
one says, 'my life span is everything and spiritual ideas fit inside that agenda.'
or the other says, 'spiritual life is everything and time serves eternity.'

A major shift in thinking is being convinced that matter is fine, but temporary and that the spirit is real and permanent.
Next up is where do I find a place of safety for my soul?
Who or what do I commit to?

Our herdsman warrior, who wrote Psalm 23, committed himself to God
He found protection, contentment and total fulfillment.
It was full on joy to move in with God for ever, it was home for him.

To us in 2007 this God is largely an unknown
The bible tells us a lot about God.
perhaps some reflections on the nature and shape of God himself would be good
if requested, sweet chariot will continue mid July
